About Lou Jogmen

I’ve built my life and career on resilience. As a child, I watched my father—a 34-year-old police officer—survive being shot in the head after exchanging himself for a hostage. His courage and selflessness shaped my core beliefs about service, leadership, and putting others first.

With a Master’s Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, I went on to spend 33 years in law enforcement, including eight as a Chief of Police. I led teams through everyday personnel challenges, culture building, and major critical incidents, including a mass shooting. These experiences taught me how people react under pressure, how trust is built, and how communication drives performance. I also learned that many of the most important leadership lessons aren't unique to the profession—they're universal. The principles that help a leader guide a squad through a crisis are the same ones that help a manager navigate organizational change. The tools that build trust on a team in uniform are the same ones that build trust in any workplace.

Outside policing, I’ve also worked in the private sector conducting public-safety psychological exams and assessment centers, giving me a wide lens into organizational behavior and human performance.

I created Jogmen Consulting & Co. to bring this real-world expertise to organizations seeking practical, tested leadership guidance. I offer more than theory—I offer lived experience from high-stakes environments, translated into clear, actionable strategies that strengthen teams, culture, and communication.
